Happy weekend everyone! As some of you may have seen on my Instagram that I was able to hop over to Okinawa during my Asia trip this past month. Without much time to plan my itinerary, I signed up for a 2-day tour that was conducted in Japanese for the entirety of the program, and, much to my surprise, it turned out to be amazing! Though this humbling experience has reinforced one of my goals to acquire new languages, being in this position of uncertainty was also very rewarding. It has enabled me to view the world in a different perspective, and challenge myself to communicate without language. Stepping out of my comfort zone is not something that I do on a daily basis, but, after this trip, I am definitely inspired to do more of it – hopefully soon in another country!
